Thermal Transfer Ribbons

Thermal transfer ribbons come in four main types: resin enhanced, economy wax resin, wax resin or full resin and are almost always black.

These different types are made to print onto different label materials and are used instead of direct thermal printing when the life of the label needs to be long or the labels needs to survive harsh environments.

Desktop ribbons with a small core (typically 12mm) suit desktop label printers and industrial printer ribbons with a large core (typically 25mm) suit larger “industrial” models.
